Intranets have gone social with employees increasingly encouraged to upload their own content, share their ideas and collaborate with each other, regardless of function or location.

Background and challenge

Our global telecommunications client planned to deploy a new social intranet across their regions and required our support in driving adoption with colleagues from different cultures and countries to ensure optimal results. 

Approach

Given the multiple use cases and staggered deployment timeline, clear audience segmentation was essential so that we could create targeted messaging and communication plans for key audiences. We worked with the global deployment team to develop a segmentation model, communication plan, core narrative and supporting communication assets that included user journeys, champion toolkits and a range of email and intranet-based communications.

Results

The social features on the this intranet are now fully established in day-to-day communication enabling the company to reap the benefit of better connected teams across their organization.
