The State of Engagement™: Passengers
Passengers will display a lower level of understanding, but owing to their higher connection they are not likely to be overly vocal.
I don’t really feel anything about it to be honest. The company seems to know what it’s doing, so I am sure it’ll be good for me too.
Like the Malcontents, Passengers display a lower level of understanding about your organisation, but because they have stronger connection, they are more likely to give you the benefit of the doubt. It’s also possible they are not especially influential within the business, so do not have the opportunity to make either a positive or negative impact.
We generally see the numbers of Malcontents and Passengers as broadly similar and small percentages of the total employee base, with fluctuations definitely possible if pay or working conditions are impacted.
Our opportunity with Passengers is to build their understanding of the organisation so we can move them into the Observer profile. We definitely would not want them drifting towards the Partisan profile!
